Lack of inspiration.

Lately I have been doing little things, such as taking pictures of homecoming events and the Fall Play that have been up here in Van Meter.
I want a little bit more of something fun and challenging. I haven't really blogged lately but I am getting quite busy! I do enjoy living a busy life, because life itself is busy.
I do take time for myself sometimes on the weekend I go out and sit on my porch. I might need more time for self building that might spark an interesting subject to take photos of. Hopefully sometime soon.
Thanks and sorry for the short post, just thought I should say a little something!

Summer?! OMG

SO I haven't written all summer, I feel like I have abandon my kingdom!
Lets get started with summer events!
After school I had a huge family reunion like 200 people!! Holy cow I know!!!
Big family! BUT IT MEANS BIG LOVE!
It was great getting to meet everyone since I am a new member of the family it was nice to get to know some of the history and I helped with my grandma preparing some of the reunion mostly the technology part of it.
But I got to know some of the past and history behind our family tree it was a really neat experience.
A week ago  I do believe  I just got back from YMCA camp.
An amazing place that has turned my life upside down for the better!
A place where the 4 core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, & Responsibility are placed into everything you do, from the beginning of the day to the very last moment of the day.
I met so many amazing people, had lots of laughs and smiles that will last me a lifetime.
I hope next year I will be hired to work there through the summer, getting to meet kids and learn how to live openly is such an amazing experience, it's not much you can put into words, its a see for yourself type of thing.
I went into the program thinking I was just going to enjoy it.
But I came out LOVING  it. Y-Camp is like my home! The people were like my family. In the 3 weeks I was there I became so close with so many people.
It gives you this chance to have all the friends you can ask for, but you have to want them as well.
Like they say "At Y-Camp you don't make friends, their given to you"
You just have to want them, because most likely they want to be friends with you. You will make life long friends at Y-Camp. I know I have. A few really great friends.
It was sad when it came down to the last night. Everyone in tears but we knew that wouldn't be the last of our friendships, we still talk and we are planning to hang out.
I can't wait for next summer, even if I don't get hired, I'll go visit :)
I LOVE THAT PLACE!
Right now I am having practice for cheerleading, yepp its that time again! And I Can't wait for football season to be here! <3
Well it's late I think I will head into bed right about now!
I hope everyone is having an amazing summer!

Summer is close!

HUSTON WE HAVE COUNT DOWN!
10 DAYS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes that is right my fellow bloggers and readers, only 10 days left of school! I can count the days on my fingers!! :)
Summer is just right around the corner! This means, pools, sun, and more fun then anyone of us can imagine!
Well I want to share some of my summer plans!
Since this summer will be full of new experiences for me it will be so exciting!
I plan on taking lots and lots of pictures and watching a lot of sunsets, and taking long walks along the river and going over to grandmas and having a blast! :)
Family reunion is coming up the 2nd week of June I believe so I am excited to see the family! :) We have lots of stuff planned somethings I don't even know about hehe.
But one thing I am really looking forward to is Y-Camp.
Its a no brainer fun, exciting, and the best learning experience I am sure I will enjoy and get so much life experience out of it, and I am positive I will carry out the things they teach me into the world beyond camp.
Its something to spread and to help make a difference in the world.
It may be small, but it amounts to so much more.
:)
Have a great day!

When in Doubt.

So many things have been going on here at Van Meter once again, life is busy busy.
I am spending time taking pictures and editing them, I just recently got done with my first profit project. It was for the Van Meter Junior & Senior High School 2010 Prom.
I blogged about such earlier. I was really excited and now I feel successful in my talent. I hope to learn everything as fast as I can.
Just wish I could get connected with more people.
It's headed toward the end of the year, and I am sad to say I won't have my computer! I will have A computer but not as amazing as my MacBook.
When I start a job I will try and save up for one. I would love to have one, one day for my own personal use. (:
This computer has no doubt changed my life and outlook on education.
Some students and board members are at the Capital right now teaching the Senate about some of the things we are doing here.
(:
Wish I could, but that's for NHS I do believe. Maybe one day I will have such an opportunity.
Tonight is going to be a very long night. I have been at the School since 6:30 AM and I will be here till probably 9:30 PM, too long to be at school I know!
HA!
But I have a Performing Arts Festival tonight. Art fair along with it!
LONG DAY must I say more?
I also am being put on a photography gig, to capture some of the Junior and Seniors tonight in the Festival.
So it's a long and busy day in the life of ME.
It will all be worth it!
Got to go for now!
Have a great day readers!

More people.

Well today in the halls of Van Meter, we are having 40+ guest coming to visit and see what we are doing here at VM and seeing how we learn.
Most of them are pretty amazed at what we do, how we use our computers and how we are connecting.
They are also confused as what and how we do it!!
We enjoy teaching them how we do, they ask a lot of questions but being able to answer them at my age and helping them understand what we are doing here, it makes me feel like someone that they can come and get their answers for.
I am currently sitting here listening to a few teachers trying to understand some things and their schedules.
It's pretty amazing at what they are doing as well.
Meetings, classes, appointments.
All the good jazz you all know and have heard about before.
Mr. Durflinger is getting ready to speak, He is letting one of some of the teachers talk and tell their story.
I see a teacher using a video device recording the discussion. I guess they want to look back at what we are doing here.
Mrs. Druery is telling her story about how she was teaching and how technology has changed all of their ways of teaching.
(:
When she got more advanced in the web world she realized that our computers that they are amazing tools to use and that it was more of a help then a distraction.
OOOO she just said she purchased an iPad. I think that would be so fun to actually start using but I prefer my computer. (: NO DOUBT
Questions are being asked and answers are being given.
Online? Copy write?
No, it's watched and is worked to have it copy written.
Mrs. Carey's turn to show her new side of technology.
New text books. Classzone.com ( a site you can get help, and it has fun little practices and quizes)
skillsiowa.com as well.
"Have you found your able to use your mathmatical concepts into the kids eyes? Connections? "
"Yes, consumer. Looking up things that help them learn the lessons. "
Mr. Hyer is up next a Junior High Reading teach (he was my fav)
Comic life they read, creating something that they read into something that others can learn about.

Mrs. Miller's turn I think she is ahead of everyone here.
She is so amazing with how she is collaborating with people and how she does things.
Wish I could stay but it's time for biology

Drinking and Driving End in Dismay.

On April 28, 2010
Van Meter High School's NHS team set up an amazing story about a Drinking and Driving accident and touched the hearts of students. Tears were sure to come as the sad tale went on that day.
Nick L was the drunken driver who hit a car with the mother, and two daughters. The mother was instantly killed and the daughter in back lost all feeling in her legs.
The drunk driver got a few scratches but his friend in the back was killed as well. 2 killed and 3 critically injured. Drunk Driver walked away fine.
Ambulance's and firemen, police officers and medical assistants showed how to process is done when an accident such as this occurs.
30 minutes of long waiting and screaming from the "injured" ladies in the car and they finally got to them and had them taken out of the car and rushed to the hospital.
A hearce pulled up and the firemen got the "dead" mother from the driver seat pulled her on a gurnie, put her in a body bag, and took her away to the morg.
Not much to say when you see your friends are being drug out of an accident all blooded and in such agony.
Tears flowed from eyes everywhere as the dead body of Eryn S was drug out of the driver seat her sister who didn't know about this set up was in worse tears then we could have imagined. Watching her sister's "lifeless" body being driven away to her resting place.
What would you do if you saw where and how your family member died? Someone you loved was so tragically taken from you so quickly and all because they made a decision to drink and drive?
Not much to do.
But cry the tears and hope they are in a better place.
Later that day there was a funeral for Shayla the friend of the drunk driver and Eryn the mother in the activity center and it was for all to attend.
As the little gym filled up with friends, students, and family to watch the service of the two casket baring women taken too quickly, even more tears poured from faces of the morning people.
No one could have done a better job of showing the consequences of Drinking and Driving.
But lets all hope if you drink you make better decisions

Mystery Magic

I was told to bring my camera to school today, and I still don't know why!! But I am excited to find out! Imagine someone tells you to bring your camera something your pursuing and to help you they give you a project that you don't even know what it is!!
It might be a lion it might be tiger it might be a flower it might be a student! WHO KNOWS?!?! Because I sure don't.
I am told to be going @ 10 to receive my project. And I am enthused to see what it will be. I heard it will be an epic and emotional project. So hopefully not tearful emotional if so well i'm glad I do not have makeup on!
But that is my story for today. Mystery Project here I come!
